Welcome to Just Heightmaps!
Due to the nature of the digital download business, we do not offer refunds on any of our heightmap products, or assets or services we offer, sorry. If you have problems with a order, get in touch with us and we will try to help!
Question: Why do you use GUMROAD as your file hosting service to download your heightmaps from?
Answer: It makes posting heightmaps faster for us and takes a huge server load off us and worring about keeping it up all the time. We focus on the heightmap design this way, not the tech issues servers can bring.
Question: Will you be offering heightmaps for other engines down the road? Unity maybe?
Answer: No, only the Unreal engine. We do this as it maintains a faster "to market" window for us. If we converted every heightmap to every format on the market for every engine ever designed, we would take hours on end to design and post one heightmap for every engine. Since we are focus driven on only doing heightmaps for Unreal Engine, the process is faster for us. Might we move to Unity in the future? It's possible but I wouldn't hold your breath on it happening anytime soon.
Question: How often do you release new heightmaps up here?
Answer: We try to post one or two new heightmaps a week if possible. Sometimes our schedules don't allow this so we always strive for a every two week upload of new products at the very least. We have regular jobs outside of doing this site, and do this on the side as a service to the gaming and Unreal Engine community to help people with getting high quality heightmaps into their game as fast as possible through Unreal Engine importing.
Question: Do you offer custom sound or ambient on your site? I see there is a link but nothing going on right now there.
Answer: Yes, we do ambient tracks and sounds for your heightmaps. These sounds are usually background tracks like wind, ambient music or whatever it might be called for, and used in your game as a background track. These tracks can range from $5 each to as much as $25 each depending on the design of them and how complex the track is and how long it runs. These should be up and going by the end of 2026!
